The Muslim American Journalists Association extends a warm welcome to all site visitors. We are a professional organization that has arisen out of a growing need for a Muslim voice in the public sphere.

Our goal is to encourage Muslim Americans to enter the ranks of journalism and improve standards of journalistic coverage of Muslims.

Additionally, at a time when inaccurate media coverage about Muslims and Islam runs rampant and our neighbors are more curious about our faith than ever, MAJA aims to foster a greater societal understanding of Muslim Americans’ cultural identity, interests and concerns.

We invite and encourage all those with questions to use us as a resource in your reporting and in furthering your general knowledge of Muslims and Islam. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi,
I am the editor of a forthcoming (April 200smilies/cool.gif book from the University of California Press, The Veil: Women Writers on Its History, Lore, and Politics. Pamela K. Taylor is among our twenty contributors and she suggested that you might like to review this book.
Can you send me a contact and mailing address so that I can supply it to our marketing department?
Thank you so much.
